Most of the time, this topic was associated with older women who wanted nothing but short-term explicit relationships with men who were younger than them. However, the longer this 'cougar' term spread around the world, the more reputable it became. This can be highly attributed to Hollywood and various other factors that started taking part in the situation and proving that actual relationships could come out of 'cougar' scenarios, as well.

After Hollywood's popular cougar couple Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher came to the forefront, more and more people started to believe that relationships between older women and younger men could actually last for a long time. This is when the cougar topic pretty much got divided into physical infatuation and actual substance.

To this day, the word cougar still grows in both popularity in strength. The same goes for the underground movement of cubs and real cougars who advocate that dating and being a cougar has much more to it than just sex. It is a complete person and a complete lifestyle, too.

A real cougar basically refers to somebody who knows exactly who they are and what they want, and isn't scared to go after it and get it. If a certain group in the world of cougars has to be held responsible for its overall nature and meaning, then one of these groups would be the one for the job.

While this movement progresses and attracts more followers, it is sure to influence people's interactions on a daily basis along with it, most of all in terms of communication, relationships, lifestyles, and attitudes.

The cougar dating movement is definitely captivating and interesting since it is beginning to change how society thinks in both subconscious and conscious ways.

In fact, it wouldn't be far fetched to compare it to the modern new movement of the 60s - just in the 21st century.
